Full day excursion to Dandeli
Situated in the state of Karnataka just outside the Goa border, the Dandeli Sanctuary abounds in Flora and Fauna. It has an undulating topography with steep slopes, picturesque river valleys, and rich hilly forest terrain. The main wildlife species include elephant, tiger, leopard, gaur, flying squirrel, mouse deer, etc and a variety of birds.
Arambol
This is one of Goa's most remote and beautiful beaches. Arambol is distinctive for its freshwater lake which almost reaches the sea and its dramatic rocky headlands. Many people come here to do yoga, meditate or paraglide from the cliffs. The beach is reached by a madcap ferry ride from Siolim.
Churches
Placed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO are Old Goa's churches. Take a look at the famous Basilica of Bom Jesus where a naturally preserved body in a glass coffin is honoured as that of St Francis Xavier, the patron saint of Goa.
Fort St. George
Visit Fort St George and see the oldest Anglican church in Asia, St Mary’s Church. Inside the fort, you'll find the Fort Museum which houses a valuable collection of coins, medals, armour and documents. After that, take a walk by the beautiful Kapaleeswarar Temple. Around it, you will be delighted to walk through its many tiny lanes where little shops which sell rich silk, cotton fabrics and handicrafts are plentiful.
Panaji
The state capital of Panaji still has several beautiful old Portuguese colonial buildings with Iberian grilles and balconies, old churches and roadside shrines. It is a wonderful place to visit to get a feel of part of Indias history.
Dudhsagar Waterfalls, Sanguem
Head South East to India's highest waterfalls, accessed by an Indiana Jones style trek through the jungle where you can spot wild Bison, Ox and over 300 species of birds. At the foot of this "ocean of milk" is a freshwater pool.
Betul
The river Sal and its palm fringed inslets meet the sea at the picturesque fishing village of Betul. A sandbar in the middle of the river can be reached by boat at low tide where you can paddle among the fish. Take a hike up to the church overlooking the village, where the panoramic views are best seen at sunset.
