Just 5kms east of the train station are the botanical gardens and zoo. Spacious and well managed, the zoo has tigers, leopards and of course Assams famous Rhinos. For a bit of comparison, the zoo also has the African two-horned Rhino.

Long known as the centre of astrology and astronomy on Chitrachal Hill is Navagrah Temple. The inne planets are represented by nine linga inside the main temple.

Protecting 137 sq kms of forest and wetlands along the Jai Bharali river is the Nameri National Sanctuary. Eco-friendly fishing, birdwatching, rafting and elephant rides are all offered within the sanctuary for your enjoyment.
