Nahan hosts a festival called the Bhawan Dwadshi at the end of the monsoon, when 50 Hindu idol gods are paraded through the town and ceremonially bathed a Rani Lake, in the centre of town.

Renuka Lake is home to the wildlife park which has Asiatic lions barking deer and the famous Himalayan Black Bear.

For more adventureous take a hike (8kms) to the peak of Jamu for spectacular views.

The week long Renuka Mela is held in November to honour Renukaji. This celebration of death and life is colourful and a must experience.

Gurdwara at Paonta Sahib is an impressive palace, situated on the river.
