Vidhana Soudha is at the north-western end of Cubbon Park, this granite neo- Dravidian style building is very impressive. Built in 1954 it houses the Secretariat and the State Legislatire. Unfortunately, it is not open to the general public.

Cubbon Park and Museums was laid out in 1864 on 120 hectares.

Fort and Tipu Sultan's Palace was built out of mud brick in 1537 and was rebuilt in the 18th century. The Tipu Sultan's palace is modest but known for it's elegant teak pillars.

Bull Temple is the oldest temple in Bangalore. It was built by Kempegowda in the Dravidian style in the 16th century. It contains a huge granite monolith of Nandi.

Ulsoor Lake is located on the north-eastern fringe of the city. It is a great picnic spot and row boats can be hired for an enjoyable day out.
