Guwahati:
Umananda Temple is located on Peacock Island in the middle of a river. Ferries take tourist back and forth. Depending on the depth of the river ferry departure points may change.

Navagrah Temple is to the east of Guwahati and is also referred to the temple of nine planets. It has long been recognised as a centre for astrology and astronomy.

Kamakhya Temple attracts pilgrims from around the country. It is the centre for Shakti worship and Tantric Hinduism. It was rebuilt in 1665 after Muslim invaders destroyed it. The exact age of the temple is unsure but it's origins go further back than 1665.
