In upper Coonoor you will find Sim's Park which houses over 1,000 plant species. Opposite Sim's Park is the Pasteur Institute which is renown for it's research for the treatment of rabies.

Dolphins Nose is located about 10kms from town and is a great viewing point. Lamb's Rock is another place to witness spectacular views. From Kotagiri you can take a visit to Catherine Falls, Elk Falls and Kodanad Viewpoint, all of these wonderful viewing points are located approximately 8kms from town.

The Women's Cooperative near Ramchand Square is popular and sells traditional Toda embroidery and handicrafts. Part of the profit is reserved for the preservation of the Toda culture.

Udhagamandalam (Ooty) is home to the Botanical Gardens which was established in 1848. Here you will find a fossilised tree trunk which is believed to be 20 million years old.

St Stephen's Church on the hill was constructed in 1829 and consecrated in 1830 and is celebrated as the oldest church in the Nilgiris.
