West Bengal

Sagar Island is a meca for Hindu pilgrims who descend on the area to visit the Kapil Muni Temple and to bath in teh confluence of the Ganges and the Bay of Bengal.

The old Danish Church and cemetery is located at Serampore.

At Mahesh, 3kms from Serampore has the temple of Jagannath. In July of each year the Mahesh Rath Yatra takes place here.

Vishnupur is home to famous temples and buildings. The temples here are covered with ornate terracotta tiles depicting scenes from the Hindu epics. This area is also famous for it's pottery.

The West Bengal Hills are home to teh Bara Sona and Qadam Rasul Mosques.
